John Pehle met with Raymond Gram Swing, a big deal journalist and radio broadcaster about the issue of psychological warfare and warnings.  Swing’s against it. I think in retrospect, we assume that it was obvious the US should warn potential perpetrators about capture and prosecution after the war, and serve as a reminder to civilians that they should do all they could to aid persecuted minorities.  But in 1944, this isn’t so obvious. Powerful people argue against this idea. It’s interesting that they’re conferring with people like Swing, and also interesting that he’s worried about using his own medium for these purposes
